Indian culture

India is the country that possesses a marvelous culture and history.  India’s culture is said to be five thousand years old. However, it is not just charmed by one culture or religion but many cultures and religions. It is said to be born from Indus Valley civilization.

India has been less of a home to its own people but more to foreigners. Therefore it has a lot of influence on cultures and religions of the world. India’s northern and southern part is completely unique and distinct same with the western and eastern parts of the country and when it’s unique and distinct it includes all over such as food, clothes, weather and environment. It’s like two kids born from the same mother but with distinct features.

Indian culture

The northernmost part of the nation is primarily been conquered and ruled by Greeks, Mughals, Sikhs and British etc in the past. States like Haryana, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh and Jammu Kashmir have their own uniqueness. Agribusiness is popular in these states whereas festivals are the same all over the states of North and Central India such as Diwali, Raksha Bandhan, Guru Nanak Jayanti and Eid etc are celebrated religiously however festivals like Ganesh puja, Pongal etc. The festivals of the south are not celebrated but are important as schools and colleges stay closed. The birthplace of the Hindu religion is north India.

The southernmost and easternmost parts of this nation are the most beautiful parts of this nation. Scenic magnificence is grandeur. People from all over the world come to see and visit beautiful places here. Whereas the western part of the country is not less which includes Rajasthan and Gujarat with an entirely different culture, food and clothing also attract a lot of tourists. The desert, wildlife, forts and palaces are a temptation for destination weddings.

In India, with so many cultures there are many dialects also. People living in Haryana speak Haryanvi, people in Punjab speak Punjabi, people in Tamil Nadu speak Tamilian, in Bengal speak Bengali. So many dialects yet there’s unity in diversity. Everyone comprehends everyone. Language doesn’t come in the way when it comes to lending a hand to each other in times of trouble and tribulation.

It’s not just language. India is so varied that dance forms exist uniquely in each state. Such as bhangra of Punjab, Kathakali of Kerala, Bihu of Assam, Ghoomar of Haryana and Rajasthan. Thus even the dance forms are uncommon in this diverse nation.

India is also known for food and its spices. It is split into five categories – northern, eastern, western, southern and north eastern. Though a substantial quantity of Indian cuisine includes vegetarian food but also encompasses meat. Fish- based cuisines are common in eastern and southern parts of India.

The popularity of curry was originated in India.

With a rich record, India also has popularity in sweets. Bengali and Gujarati sweets are very popular.

India is also very eclectic architectural wise. It encompasses a multitude of expressions and notions. This can be found way back from Indus Valley civilization (2600-1900 BC). Religion didn’t play a major role in the well-laid planning of this city. In the northern part of the country, there is an influence of the west, the Islamic influence in the architecture such as Qutub Minar, Red Fort and Taj Mahal etc. Indian architecture has influenced eastern and southeastern Asia, due to the spread of Buddhism such as a stupa, pagoda etc.

According to industry consultant Eugene M.Makar, for example, traditional Indian culture is defined by a relatively strict social hierarchy. He also mentions that from an early age, children are reminded of their roles and places in society. Everyone has their own perception of Indian culture. As it is a diverse culture it has its shortcomings and exclusiveness. People here are devoted to their customs and a ritual which may seem harsh to other fellow citizens and people due to stubbornness but love for its land and its people is immense. Respect and admiration for people from different states and culture are huge. People are considerate and helpful. It is a country ruled by numerous but since the freedom, it has booked a place among some developed nations with its diverse and wide culture. There’s something about this country and the reason why it’s called ‘Incredible India’ can be witnessed once you visit here.

All these things are being acquired by our ancestors and by their experiences that they have shared with us. Architectures have many ancient stories same as that of our Indian history contains many stories which include about our great leaders and their hard work and dedication to make India free. It also includes the real struggle of Indian people to bring our country to these heights and to these developments under which we people are surviving. Our Indian culture also defines the importance and the respect that a lady holds in our Indian societies. There are many cases and incidents of past which includes the bravery of ladies. It not only respects women but also worships them.

Indian culture is also considered as the most beautiful culture and is followed by some people in foreign also. The best part is that all the people of India respect each other’s religions and festivals. Though western culture is adopted these days by the young generation but they should not forget their own culture. Modifications following your own culture are good but forgetting your own culture completely and moving towards entirely different culture is not good. This action somewhere disrespects the Indian culture and rules also. Modifications with time should be taken but by following some rules and regulations that are set by our ancestors which we are following as our culture since our childhoods.
